Chickpea Curry

First up, (our) Coconut Oil is used in the Julia and Libby Chickpea Curry recipe. This link features a reader’s photo of the recipe, as made at home in Christchurch.

Here is the official Julia and Libby link.

Cinnamon and White Chocolate Coconut-Oat Chippers (The Picky Palate Cookbook Review)

We first promoted this recipe on our Coconut Oil Shop Facebook page. It requires 1 cup of Virgin Coconut Oil.

Here is the official TasteandTellBlog.com link.

Salad Dressing Base (Mary’s Oil Blend)

Here is the recipe link on our site. We’ve been reading Dr Mary’s Enig and Sally Fallon books for a long time now. And it occured to us to share the love, the love of Mary’s Oil.

This page on our site has a link to Kim Harris’ blog, The Nourishing Gourmet, and a link to the Mary Enig book for sale at our site.

Creamed Coconut Ice Cream Recipe

Life and Leisure Magazine have created this recipe, and it is certainly hot enough for Ice Cream at the time this recipe was posted on our updates page.

Here is the Life and Leisure Magazine link. And again, here is our link. https://www.coconutoilshop.co.nz/2013/02/coconut-ice-cream-recipe/

Coconut Oiled Leek Our customer Heike Koester provided us with this interesting use for her chosen brand of coconut oil.

Virgin Coconut Oil Chocolate Recipe

Here is another customer recipe for virgin coconut oil. Make sure you don’t try to use a microwave. It will burn the sugar and the oil as it heats up too fast.
It chocolate made with coconut sugar, or coconut syrup, or maple syrup.
Here is our CoconutOilShop link.

Here is an alternative recipe too (special bonus!) http://www.naturalhealthstrategies.com/how-to-make-chocolate.html

Hyderbadi Chicken Biryani (Spicy Chicken cooked with Basmati Rice)

This recipe comes with a en entertaining video too!

I was first introduced to Biryani through Sean D’Souza, a marketing teacher, of Indian decent, who lives most of the year in Auckland. Well, you will be very interested in this recipe if you wonder what to do with the Coconut Ghee Mix we sell here at the shop.

Here is the link, anyway. https://www.coconutoilshop.co.nz/2013/02/hyderbadi-chicken-biryani/

Oats / Porridge (Naturally flavoured and with Coconut Oil)

https://www.coconutoilshop.co.nz/2013/03/coconut-oil-and-flavoured-porridge/

One day a friend introduced us to the idea of flavouring porridge (oatmeal) with vanilla, and ground ginger, and things. I got to thinking “How can we introduce Coconut Oil into this as well?”

Walnut Dark Chocolate with Virgin Coconut Oil

Got some walnuts? Get some dark unsweetened chocolate, and give this recipe a whirl. (If you are in NZ, try Whittakers Dark Ghana or Nestle’ red label cooking chocolate).

Tandoori Chicken Sandwich with Virgin Coconut Oil
If there is a food that I nearly always buy when in a restaurant of any kind, it is chicken. Here a dorm mother for girls in Mexico uncovers yet another way to eat chook. https://www.coconutoilshop.co.nz/2013/04/coconut-oil-in-tandoori-chicken-sandwich-with-mango-chutney/

Gracious Clean Eating Chocolate

We wanted to provide you with a chocolate recipe that is Palm Oil Free, and one that can be made with organic (chocolate) cocoa powder. There is only one snag with this recipe. If you don’t freeze it, it won’t taste great.

But we’re working on new variations of it. One simple recipe we have in mind makes it taste amazing! Another has a different type of sugar… I won’t let the cat out of the bag just yet.
