A quick reference guide to MCT Oil grades

The Cs
The lower the number, the more important the acid is, and therefore how potentially potent the MCT oil is. The description of an acid with a lower number represents describes an acid with a potentially more potent effect on the body.

C8 equals Caprilyc Acid.
C10 and other numbers such as C12 represent other types of acid.
A lower number, for example, 8 instead of 10 or 12, is considered more effective in producing a benefit on the brain, regulating blood sugar or helping to produce a state of ketosis in the body.

The %
The higher the per cent* such as 99%, in our C8 MCT Oil, the more potentially potent the oil will be. The same applied to the ratios 60-40 versus the ratio 40-60. The first number represents the acid with a potentially more potent effect on the body.

MCT oil is graded into percentages of C8 Caprylic Acid and the rest of the acids. So 99-1, which is not a common description, represents our MCT Oil derived from Organic Coconut Oil, with 99% Caprylic Acid. Other common grades are 60-40 and 40-60.
