Coconut flour birthday cake: transform your event to include gluten free

We’ve got a recipe that can transform your menu. A Coconut Flour birthday cake.

Lots of people are just discovering the benefits of Coconut products. Most of them will know about Coconut Oil. The Coconut Resort Blog would like you to consider the possibility of Coconut Flour as well.

With some adjustments which you can learn as you go, you can make cakes with Coconut Flour that will taste as nice, or not nicer than those made with a different flour.

Baking with Coconut Flour requires eggs, or an egg replacement recipe like chia seeds (white or black).

Recipe Notes

Serves: Makes 1 cake – double recipe to make a tiered cake as pictured above.
Coconut flour absorbs water. So don’t be surprised by the amount of amount of flour in this recipe. If you are tempted to add more flour, you will have a very, very dry cake. If the cake doesn’t work first time, it could be that you need to adjust the flour. Your altitude, oven temperature, fan bake or convection etc, flour storage, sifting or not sifting can affect the recipe. Make minor adjustments to the flour first.
